These terms cover your use of this website and the general basis on which we provide quotes and services. They are written in plain language. The specific terms for any shipment are set out in the quote and invoice we agree with you for that job.
About this website
The information on this site is provided for general guidance about our services and the Berbera trade corridor. We work to keep it accurate, but it is provided as is, without warranty, and figures such as distances, transit times and duty rates are indicative and can change.
Quotes and estimates
- A quote is an estimate based on the information you give us, valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise. It is not binding until we confirm your booking in writing.
- Freight rates move. We re-confirm the ocean or air rate at the time of booking, as carriers adjust pricing and surcharges.
- Customs duty and taxes are set by Somaliland Customs, not by us. We pass them through at cost; they are never a margin or fee we add.
- Charges caused by delays on your side, such as demurrage or storage, are payable by you and will be stated on the quote where they apply.
Working with us
When you accept a quote, the services we provide for that shipment are governed by that quote and our invoice, together with these terms. Payment terms are stated on the invoice, typically a deposit on acceptance and the balance before customs clearance. We hold cargo until the relevant invoice is paid in full.
Responsibility and liability
We coordinate every shipment carefully, but some things are outside our control. We are not liable for delays or losses caused by carriers, customs authorities, weather, force majeure or other events beyond our reasonable control. We recommend cargo insurance on every shipment and can arrange it for you. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Intellectual property
The MCN Gateway name, logo and the content of this site belong to MCN Gateway and may not be copied or used without permission.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Somaliland.
